Rana FILLER & TOX EXPERT | EDUCATOR | CHICAGO

Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse

Rana Kennelly is the founder of The Confidence Bar and The Confidence Lab. She is a highly skilled and experienced nurse practitioner with a strong focus on women's health and well-being. With a background in plastic surgery, gynecology, IVF, postnatal depression, and eating disorders, Rana is passionate about educating and empowering women in all aspects of their health journey. Her dedication to staying at the forefront of her field and elevating others has earned her recognition as one of the top speakers at aesthetic conferences and she is often sought after as a speaker and trainer by leading companies like Allergan, Galderma, Revance, and P.A.L.E.T.T.E. Resources As a proud New Zealander, Rana’s Māori heritage informs much of the core branding and mission of The Confidence Bar and The Confidence Lab. For example, she chose the New Zealand Koro, or silver fern for the company logo because it symbolizes new beginnings, growth, strength, and peace and emphasizes the importance of helping others. She credits the strength, work ethic and creativity of her single mother for her own approach to her business, her family and her life. “Despite our modest means, my mother made us feel like we had everything and lacked nothing,” Rana remembers. “She worked hard flipping houses, transforming dilapidated wooden homes into modern, inviting spaces filled with light and beautiful leaded windows that she designed. My fondest childhood memories involve rolling around on freshly laid carpet that mum had just nailed in or helping her hang wallpaper late into the night. She worked for hours, stripping off old paint to reveal the beauty underneath.” As a child, Rana’s home was filled with pre-loved treasures that others would discard. Her mother encouraged the family to repaint and reupholster these pieces of old furniture; remake articles of jewelry and reimagine items of clothing. “We painted a wild African animal theme on a pair of second-hand jeans, long before Jean Paul Gaulthier thought of it!” she laughs. As a result, Rana learned to view things through a different lens while preserving their unique essences. Today, in the field of aesthetics, she applies this perspective daily. She works from a solid foundation of appreciation for the beauty in all things, even when others may overlook them. She is drawn to faces that tell stories, even if those stories are marked by hardship. Her aim is to restore radiance to those faces, allowing light and happiness to shine from every angle. As an homage to her hard-working mother, she is particularly happy to treat single moms. And her overarching goal is to make the faces entrusted to her care exude approachability yet invoke the question: “How does she look so damn good?”
