Maria graduated from San Diego State University in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in nursing and a minor in Psychology. She developed her passion for aesthetic medicine in 2011. Since then, she has circulated an operating room and post anesthesia care unit for a cosmetic surgeon, with a focus in injectables and laser treatments. Maria believes the most important part of her interaction with the patient is the consultation; learning the patient’s expectations and concerns, reviewing options together, educating the patient, and coming up with a realistic and attainable treatment plan that will suit the patient best. Maria truly values making her patients feel comfortable by creating a trusting relationship. In her spare time, you can find Maria exploring the globe, finding balance in yoga/pilates/the beach, playing with her pup, being a foodie, showing enthusiasm for new learning experiences, and always ready for an adventure. Maria also prides herself on being able to utilize surrounding resources to their full potential, having a natural ability to solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment, being able to personally connect with a dynamic range of personalities and cultures, remain consistent and calm in stressful situations, and is completely committed to teamwork and excellence when representing a company. My favorite thing about my current career path as a cosmetic RN is the ability to be equipped with a skill set and communication/dialogue that will truly help someone see and become the best version of themselves, give them confidence, and bring internal light and happiness to their life. Although some may say these treatments are superficial, I think the results and confidence patients obtain from them are priceless and spill into other areas of their life (personal, family, spiritual, career, friends, relationships). Confidence is invaluable in the way that opportunities can open up when you feel good about yourself. :)
