Joie Beck is a board certified Nurse Practitioner. She is also a Bay Area native and graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelors degree in Health Education and a Minor in Holistic Health. She then went on to earn a dual Masters degree in Nursing and Public Health followed by her Family Nurse Practitioner licensure and certification. Joie began her clinical career as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at the University of California San Francisco medical campus where she was involved in critical care, leadership, education and best practice development. She also worked in Infection Prevention and Control. In 2010, she developed and implemented infection prevention and best practice protocols for the Cosmetic Dermatology Department at the Kaiser Permanente San Francisco medical campus. Joie's professional passion however, is aesthetics and she has committed herself to perfecting and evolving her knowledge, techniques and skill. Since 2007 She has worked with several Bay Area aesthetic practices where she has developed and maintained a loyal patient base. Using a gentle, conservative approach, Joie works with her patients to create individualized treatment plans to achieve a natural, refreshed look. She is considered an expert injector and specializes in dermal fillers using advanced techniques to lift and contour the face. Joie also has extensive experience with neuromodulators, skin resurfacing, laser technology, non-invasive body contouring and skin rejuvenation treatments. In addition to her diverse career experience, Joie is also a guest lecturer for the Nurse Practitioner Program at San Francisco State University. She volunteers with several Bay Area organizations that provide assistance to homeless women, victims of domestic violence and substance abuse. She is currently working to develop a skin care rejuvenation program for marginalized women who are transitioning back into the workforce.

I am a board certified nurse practitioner with 21 years of clinical experience. I have a wide range of interests and have developed a diverse skill set that includes medical aesthetics, infection control and prevention, critical and urgent care of adult and pediatric populations, leadership and teaching. I believe in evidence based, best practices to provide the most excellent care to my patients. I enjoy the autonomy that comes with an advanced practice degree, however I think that team work is key to the provision of comprehensive and compassionate care. I have developed friendships and professional relationships in every clinical setting I have worked or studied and try to learn from the expertise and knowledge of those colleagues from housekeeping to CEO's. I currently work in several different scopes of clinical practice but my primary career and passion is in medical aesthetics where I combine art and science to create a healthy, natural and refreshed look. My dream and work in progress is to expand access to skin care and medical aesthetics for women in recovery and transition.
